Oct 31, 2020 · Hi all, long time lurker but first time posting. I have a 2016 Tahoe LTZ that has a new issue that happened tonight. The wife and I had an appt about 7 miles from our house. On the way to it everything was fine, however on the way home about halfway I heard the fans kick on. Did think anything... I have a 2015 Silverado 4.3. My temp gauge stops working and my fans stay on high. I’ve replaced my temp sensor and it is still doing it. If I unplug the battery and reconnect everything will work just fine for a few days, and then stops working again.You can get a cluster from a Silverado ss for around $350. You have to sign an affidavit stating the correct mileage and the company will program the new cluster toyour current mileage. The advantage to this is that the ss cluster has a temp gauge for your trans.
