John deere makes a matte black spray paint that matches the denim black and its really good paint. Just do light coats. If you do to many coats it'll start to get glossy. Theres some youtube videos of guys using it on harley parts. It's called John deere blitz black. If it has a somewhat sheen to it like the JD Blitz black all you can do is wash it and hope for the best. If you had a clear with a flattening agent it would be much easier to ...i have been doing some work on it. welded in the cpp rear notch, exhaust pass thrus on crossmember a little body filler and a couple of coats of 2k primer. then 3 coats of john deere blitz black. i used the correct thinner and hardner. looks great and dried over night.
A good choice for you might be Benjamin Moore Industrial paint. It is avaiable in black semi-gloss. If you ally it dry it comes out flat black. If you apply it normally, it is a nice semi-gloss. ...
