Posts. 952. i think a lot of people that think that the camel humps are better simply because they flow more air or make more peak horsepower need to look at the bigger picture. the vortecs are more efficient over a broader rpm range, and require less timing and octane to get the job done.

For example, in the mid sixtys, there were heads with the same casting numbers ( ending in 462) but had either 1.94 intakes or 2.02 depending on application.
