5 posts · Joined 2016. #4 · May 3, 2016. I was pretty much set on the Duratracs until I read a build thread that said KO2's are much better in terms of road noise, sidewall, and performance. The only thing that turns me off about the KO2s is they don't look aggressive at all, at least compared to the Duratracs.Several of my friends have Duratrac or KO2's. I have driven both and tested both on several tucks (4th & 5th gen 4Runner, Nissan Pathfinder, Xterra, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, JK Wrangler, 100 Series). Duratrac's are far superior in deep snow and mud, with the disadvantage of being considerable louder on pavement.It will really depend what type of snow condition you are going to be experiencing. Thankfully there is a ton of information offered on TW, and for my basically stock daily driver (off road 1x/month ) I finally decided on the C-rated Duratrac's mainly for the weight difference. I couldn't find a Tread Width for the DT, but they tend to be narrow so I think it could be up to 1" thinner resulting in less rolling resistance and perhaps better snow performance.
