You can no long do heavy attacks with it. Only light attacks. For it to be practical in sp, it pretty much needed that major increase in damage. I made a Dokrahm+shtung+V, II, R and rolled a +crit damage + toxin + slash - heavy attack efficiency riven. A contagion zaw allows you to reclaim ranged attacks whilst only having a melee equipped. I find it preferable to using a glaive as they're pretty clunky on console. Your mileage may vary. I use a sepfahn with exodia contagion and can officially say it’s by far the most fun melee option for me.
