Both engines had a 4.00-inch bore; the 332 ci had a 3.30-inch stroke, while the 352-ci stroke was 3.50 inches. The two virtually identical engines were available options in Ford passenger cars until 1959.The 360 crank is identical to the 352 crank, but the casting numbers will tell the difference in intened application. Ok- have learned on here, and from Barry R's book, that old FE rods are suspect, especially if you are going to rev or boost. The FE Ford engine was released into production in 1958. The earliest applications included use in the short-lived Edsel program. The FE was not a replacement for the Y-block; it was a larger companion to an engine family sharing some design features. In 1958, the Y-block was still considered a current design at only four years old.You need to check the bore and stroke, check the date code under the block at the oil filter, and check the casting numberon the block, on the right side of the block towards the front. It will say somthing like, for example "C6ME-A" Ford only gave a few clues as to ID ing their engines. Like. F.Block is C6ME-A casting. Crank is 2U. 7 of the rods are C7AE-B and one is C7AE-C.
