Like devmechster said, it's dependent on serval factors - engine temp, engine load, possibly speed. The VCM muzzlers and deletes that people use tricks the engine into thinking it's running a tick under full operating temp and thus, VCM usually wont engage.

I solved my "misfire problem". I thought that I would post this to help others who may be new to the Honda fold.
