The last springs that I recently did, I cleaned,painted, and applied Mystic jt6 grease. I plan to periodically lube the springs with oil and cover with spring covers. I believe this is the best way to prevent them squeaking and rusting. I am assuming that the applied oil will migrate into the springs.When I rebuilt my springs the first time, I used a grinder to clean up each leaf. My truck came from the Kansas's Flint hills area and was run really hard. The lower leafs dug into the ones above creating steps. These steps kept them from moving.
