The Navy’s scoring assessment system is slightly different than the other branches. They look at the ASVAB score broken down into subtest scores like the others but do not have generalized groupings that their jobs fit into. The Navy jobs called “ratings” combine the subtests differently for each job and score them a ASVAB Standard Scores. Standard Scores are on a scale of 0-100. On this scale, 50 is the mean, or average, and every 10 points from the mean represents one standard deviation. This means that a Standard Score of 60 would be above average.
