Painting valve cover
I used Krylon or Rustoleum black wrinkle. Cleaned it really well, primed and sprayed. Piece of cake. For a really cool look, lay a file down flat over the lettering, and file the paint off, then keep going until the tops of the letters are all flat and even, instead of slightly rounded over from the casting.William, I painted my valve cover from an enamel rattle can (can't remember the brand) and it was just listed as Silver. When freshly painted the valve cover was very bright and clean. 7 years later after dirt, oil, many heat cycles the valve cover colour is not only toned down but now has that slightly "greenish" hue that everyone talks about.Spray a few light coats of primer on it and let it dry. Get whatever color you want and lay it on there. When its all done, get a block of wood with some sand paper on it and rub on the letter and numbers. clean it off and let it sit out in the sun for a day, to completely dry. Easy and it will last a long time.
