Hole / Leak in Transfer Case. I recently noticed a leak coming from my transfer case on my 2004 Sierra 1500. I have read up on the various problems with these cases all while looking for the source. Well I finally found the source, a small hole in the rear case, passenger side back toward the drive shaft as seen in the photos.Appears to be from the rear of the transmission and front of the transfer case. Its probably the transfer case seal and or a combination with right/passenger axle seal. I had that same leak location almost 2 years ago fixed underwarranty. And mine was the combination leak.
