With a new clutch on the way, I'm wondering if it's better to simply have the flywheel resurfaced (condition willing) or just pick up a new one. On one hand that flywheel has been there for 30 years, but on the other a brand new one from a reputable company (Luk) is a wallet breaking $45 on Rockauto...Maybe it can be resurface if still with in tolerances and is not expensive to do. Minimum, resurface. Best fix, replace that is badly worn. Sure you can reuse it. Just get it resurfaced. Unless it has extreme stress cracks in it it’s perfectly acceptable to have it resurfaced and reuse it.
