The 750 doesn't need a limiter - there's a gentlemen's agreement between the big 4 limiting bike speeds to 299kph. The 750 won't go that fast. The 1000 can have the top speed limiter removed by putting in a TRE - this makes the ecu think it's in 5th gear all the time, eliminating the retarded ...My speedo shows 86 mph at 6000 rpm or 14.33 mph per 1000 rpm. Assuming bike has suds to pull redline in 6th (seems like they do), then at 11750 rpm that would equate to a top speed of 168 mph. It cuts a cylinder at just over 11500rpm in 6th gear. That's why a TRE removes the top speed limiter. It makes the ECU think it's in 5th gear so it doesn't limit. The speedo will have been reading 186/299 for 1000rpm before this limiter actually cuts in though as the speedo will only read 186/299.If you keep feeding the GSX-R750 gears, you will eventually end up with a top speed of 170 mph in top gear showing around 13000 rpm with more revs to go. With a pipe and tune, this is a 180 mph motorcycle on a good day. The GSX-R750's top speed is 170 mph. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.13 seconds and 0-100km/h in 3.21 seconds.
