Jul 25, 2014 · I own both the HK P30 V1 (Light LEM) and the HK VP9. These are comparable in aesthetics and some function, but the maid difference is in the operating system; VP9 is striker fired and P30 V1 is a light DAO hammer-fired. The VP9 is slightly longer than the P30, however, the P30's slide is taller than the VP9's. VP9 slide in front.P30 and VP9 holsters are designed to fit their respective handguns, with differences in size, shape, and retention mechanism.

The vp9's recoil is more of a hard vibration with no meaningful muzzle flip. The p30 lineup has a much less pronounced vibration but it is prone to a little more muzzle rise, but that's pretty easy to handle. Just grip it harder. The p30s have the nylon buffer. 1.Both guns are mine. The VP-9 is the new 2020 version. The P-30 is the V3 DA/SA with decocker and no safety. The VP-9 is an excellent range gun with a truly incredible trigger. Breaks in SA at 4.5 pounds and smooth as glass. But, IMHO as for CCW or home defense, I much prefer the P-30.
